Summer in the Winter

At least three times a week, there is some sort of program being hosted on the WNE campus. Sometimes an RA will host and other times the event is hosted by one of our 40+ clubs. Either way, the entire campus is always welcome and encouraged to participate.

This past weekend I went to one called summer in the winter and it was the perfect dose of tropical that I needed before the snow storm. They had tropical fruit and tiny BBQ skewers and of course, the famous Western New England chocolate chip cookies. There was a limbo contest and a photo booth. My favorite was making sand art for my room and getting an airbrush tattoo.

The best part about these events is that everything is free and it's something fun to do with your friends on a weekend night. Another great aspect of programs on campus is that if you become involved with a club you too could come up with creative ideas for other students to enjoy. I hope everyone has a chance to play in the snow or relax inside and feel some summer in the winter.

Liz :)
