Summer School...in London!!

Before I knew it, my sophomore year had finished.  I just finished finals week and I just do not want to leave.  There has been so much going on around campus, that it is hard to believe that we are breaking for summer.  The men’s Lacrosse team has made it into the Division III NCAA Tournament and the Baseball team will be moving on to play in the Division III New England Regional Tournament with a chance to play in the Division III Baseball Tournament.  I have had the privilege of seeing a lot of these teams this semester in some gorgeous weather!

Along with my working with athletics, I have been interviewing for other positions on campus.  I already found out that I will be working with Admissions next year as an Admissions Associate, which is something I am very excited about.  If you come visit Western New England University next year, who knows, I may be giving your tour!

Even though I am going home, I will still continue to complete school work, as I am going to the Olympics in London this summer.  I will be in England in late July and will see numerous events.  This opportunity is something that I just had to take advantage of as a sports management major.  I hope that by reading all the blogs from current students this year it has been able to help you make a decision on coming to Western New England this fall. There are so many opportunities here that you’ll just need to experience for yourself! Have a safe and enjoyable summer!

See you next year,
-Jason

With One Year to Go, a Time for Reflection

Gillette Stadium: Site of our Sports Marketing class field trip

My t-shirt design company: Creative Conceptions

This year was definitely a year of growth and maturity.  This was my second full year at Western New England, after transferring here from a school in California.  I have learned how to balance my studies with my social life, and have seen them both thrive.  I have made a lot of new friends this year, as I have finally gotten comfortable in my surroundings.  I was on the staff of our hockey team which went on to win a school record 14 games this year, a tremendous accomplishment for a thriving program.  I went to a few career fairs where I was able to hand out my finely-tuned resume as well as gain valuable insight on the process of finding (and landing) an internship.  My year was capped off when I was elected the new Treasurer for the Sport Management Association where I will be working with my new E-board gaining valuable experience and making an impact on campus.

As a result of my experience in our College of Business, I am also in the process of developing my shirt company, Creative Conceptions, which specializes in custom designed t-shirt designing.  Check us out on Facebook and Twitter! I am very much looking forward to next year, as it is my last as a college student. So here is to my third and final year at WNE, it will be the best one yet!
