So, it’s
official. One month until I graduate college….The whole idea is still very
unreal and I actually have to enter the real world and leave the place I have
called home for 4 years! In this last month there are so many great activities
I am excited about! Last weekend was WNE’s senior formal. I had been looking
forward to it since I heard that we have a formal for seniors. It was everything
I had anticipated it to be! Despite a minor dress malfunction the night before,
everything went smoothly.
The day
started with me and my roommates frantically trying to get ready before the BBQ
in Evergreen. The mission was successful and we arrived just before the rain
clouds did. We got to mingle and take photos with friends before it started to
sprinkle a little, but we did not let it rain on our parade!! All the students
were bused to the location in Agawam, which was a fun adventure itself since I
have not been on a school bus in years! The night started off with great snacks
and drinks with friends, and then turned into a night full of dancing and
laughter with our senior class (and some welcomed underclassmen). The whole
night was such a blast and everyone was in great spirits.
Formal was the first time most of our class got to dress up
fancy together, and I felt like it was a bonding experience for everyone. We
all danced the night away and lost track of time, because the next thing I knew
it was midnight and the formal was over!
It was such
a fun night, but also bittersweet. Formal to me was the “beginning to the end”
and set a good foundation for how the events Senior Week will be. The fact that
we get to do fun activities all together as a class the last month, makes
graduating a little more welcomed. Formal and Senior Week are things I
recommend to all future classes to participate in. They are fun experiences you
will probably not get the opportunity to partake in again!
