The Western New England University housing selection is
in the works for those of us returning next year. I know that when I was a
freshman this was a very stressful time (even though it won't happen for you
for a few months). I just wanted to take a minute to share some things with you
that I wish I would have known.
Don't stress out about
finding a roommate who will be your best friend. Friendship is great when it
happens, but you really just need someone you can get along with enough to live
with. Ask them the important questions (which will change depending on what is
important to you). Even if you do happen to end up with a roommate you don't
get along with, resident advisers can help you out.
Don't stress about
exactly which building/room you get. They do have their differences, but it
doesn't really matter in the end. You'll probably make friends in other
buildings and end up spending time in all of them, anyway.
Be excited about it! It
can be stressful, yes, but this is the next step in starting your college
career! :)
