It has been a busy semester so far, and it is almost half
over already! This week is a week of transition for me. This past weekend,
something that I have been a part of ended; and this coming weekend, something
new is about to begin! This past weekend I performed in the WNEU production of
the Vagina Monologues. The Vagina Monologues is a collection of monologues
based on real life stories from women about their vaginas. Some are hilarious and others are very serious, but the show as a
whole is an amazing experience for males and females. It is performed all over
the world and all proceeds go to a local women’s charity. The money from our
show and T-shirt sales went to the Springfield YWCA. Being part of this year’s
production was an opportunity I am more than grateful to have had. I met some
amazing WNEU students, faculty, and alumni that were part of the cast, and I
learned a lot about women. Performing is something that I really love, so it
was really cool to be a part of something that I had a show for at the end.
This
weekend, the new year of Peer Advising begins! I am so excited to meet all the
new PAs and to reconnect with the returning PAs. The program has become one of
the most influential parts of my life, and I really want the new PAs to have an
equally as amazing experience. Our first training is this Thursday. One thing
ends, and another begins, but life is good as always here at WNEU.
