Fall at Western New England
Fall is a beautiful season, the leaves change along with your wardrobe and its tis the season for football and pumpkin coffee. Here at Western New England Fall seems to begin with Homecoming weekend which was September 28th-30th this year. It is a weekend jam-packed with free giveaways, returning alumni, and athletic events. It is a weekend when alumni come back with their families to relive their college years or recent grads come back to see their friends that are still here at WNE enjoying every moment of their senior year.
Homecoming weekend is also known for all of the sporting events that take place. Everything from volleyball to soccer to lacrosse! However, what is most commonly known for that weekend is the football game that is played throughout that Saturday and Sunday. Fall really comes to shape at the Golden Bear football game on the Saturday afternoon of Homecoming weekend. Alumni and current students and faculty hoard in the stands in their Western New England gear with cups of coffee or hot chocolate to stay warm while they watch our team fight for a win. Unfortunately this year our Golden Bears lost the game to Salve Regina, but win or lose it was a great time to spend together as a campus community current and past.
Fall with continue for a little longer on our Western New England picturesque campus until winter hits, but until then I along with my fellow student and friends will be enjoying the sweater weather, football, and pumpkin bread in the dining hall.
Happy Autumn,
Liz
