Every spring Western New England brings a performer to campus and this year it will be Cobra Starship. On Saturday, April 22nd they will be performing and the best part is that tickets only cost $5 for students and $10 for any guest you would like to bring with you. There is a Spring Event committee that puts the entire event together and gets to meet the performer, so that is an awesome organization to become involved with on campus. Each year the performer is different and there is a survey that the entire student body gets to fill out to choose who they would like to see as their entertainment. Next year it will be someone different but it will be just as inexpensive and fun as this year’s performer will be. So, when you’re a student here don’t miss out on Spring Event and buy a ticket early and invite friends. I hope you are all enjoying the weather, blog to you soon!

April at Western New England
The flowers are all bloomed, people are playing Frisbee on Commonwealth Lawn, and finals are right around the corner which only means one thing it is April. April is a month packed with concerts, various events, and charity walks. On April 22nd Cobra Starship will be coming to campus for the annual Spring Event. Tickets are only five dollars so Spring Event is an affordable way to have fun with friends before the stress on finals begins. The week of April 16th to 20th is called Extreme Week. During that week there will be a mechanical shark, rock climbing, bungee jumping, spider wall, make your own rice jewelry or campaign signs. It is a time to celebrate the end of the year with fun and entertainment for all of campus to enjoy. Since the weather is better there is various charity walks happening on campus. April 14th is a walk supporting a women’s shelter in Springfield and all participants even men have to wear high heels for the mile walk. It is put on by the 1 in 4 club which stands against sexual assault. The second one is called WNE Walks and it is on April 22nd and all of the proceeds go towards tornado relief in the Springfield area. Both of these walks are active ways to benefit the community surrounding Western New England. April is a jam packed month of fun before heading home for the summer and I am excited to take full advantage of it. I hope everyone enjoys the start of spring and is looking forward to the warm weather and excitement of spring just as I am.
